The classic upright AeroPress is the most forgiving brewer there is — perfect for medium-roast Arabica when you want a clean, sweet cup in two minutes flat. A single pour, a short steep, a slow press.
Use this recipe when…
- Your bag is a medium-roast everyday coffee.
- You want fast, repeatable, and hard to mess up.
The single pour
- Standard position on your cup. Add 16 g of coffee and tare to zero.
- Start the timer, pour 230 g quickly, and stir 3 times.
- Insert the plunger and steep to 1:30.
- Press slowly over ~30 seconds — stop at the hiss.
Adjustment notes
- Too intense? Add 30–50 g of hot water to the cup (a bypass).
- Sour or weak? Grind a click finer or steep 15 seconds longer.
- Stopping at the hiss keeps bitter fines out of the cup.
