The Real Sprometheus

TRecipe by The Real Sprometheus·aeromatic.app

The Real Sprometheus had been developing this recipe for an AeroPress competition, but ended up sharing it with the world instead. It works well with a wide variety of beans and produces a clean, sweet, and balanced cup.

Ingredients

  • 15 grams of ground coffee
  • 250 grams of 90ºC water

How to brew

  1. 1

Place a paper filter in the cap and attach it to the brew chamber. No need to rinse the filter.

  2. 2

Add 15 g of ground coffee to the brew chamber. Give it a shake to even out the grounds.

  3. 3

Pour 100 g of hot water over the grounds.

  4. 4

    Let bloom.

  5. 5

Pour an additional 150 g of hot water.

  6. 6

Using a spoon, slowly stir the slurry front to back and left to right.

  7. 7

Insert the plunger at the top of the brew chamber and lift up slightly to create a seal. Let steep.

  8. 8

Swirl the AeroPress and cup a few times, then gently press into the cup. Keep pressing all the way through the hiss.
