Privacy Policy

The short version: your brewing data lives on your device, syncs to your private account if you create one, and is never sold or used for ad tracking.

Last updated: 5 July 2026. This policy covers brewbuddy.app, run by an individual developer in India. It's written to be read, not skimmed past — if anything is unclear, email buddy@brewbuddy.app.

What stays on your device

BrewBuddy is local-first. Your tasting journal, built recipes, brew logs, and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage. If you never create an account, that data never leaves your device — and clearing your browser data deletes it.

The voice brew coach runs entirely on your device: the Kokoro speech model is downloaded to your browser and narration is generated locally. BrewBuddy never accesses your microphone, and no audio is sent anywhere.

What we collect if you create an account

  • Account details. Your email address, and — if you sign in with Google — the name and profile photo Google shares. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes.
  • Your coffee data. Tasting logs, built recipes, brew logs, saved recipes, and profile preferences sync to your account so they follow you across devices. This data is private to you: database access rules ensure only your account can read or write your rows.

Accounts and data are hosted on Supabase. The only emails we send are account emails (confirmation, password reset). No newsletters, no marketing.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and aggregated — no ad tracking, no cross-site profiles, no personal browsing history. We never sell data or share it with advertisers.

Bean catalog data

The bean shelf is compiled from roasters' public product listings, with every bean linking back to the roaster's own page. It describes coffee, not people — no personal data is involved.

Deleting your data

Guest data: clear your browser storage. Account data: email buddy@brewbuddy.app from your account address and we'll delete your account and everything synced to it.

Jurisdiction & changes

BrewBuddy operates from India and this policy is governed by Indian law. If the policy changes materially, the date above changes with it. See also the Terms of Use.
